Traffic poles must support horizontal mast arms extending over roadways. This creates a massive twisting force (torsion) that standard 3mm street light poles simply cannot handle. We use a 5.0mm thick Q235B steel wall for this 6M pole, ensuring it will not bend, warp, or snap under the weight of signal heads and high wind loads.
2. Purpose-Built Taper (160mm to 100mm)
The pole is designed with a very stout profile, starting at Ø160mm at the base to absorb ground-level stress, and tapering only slightly to Ø100mm at the top. This thick Ø100mm top provides a highly secure, high-friction mating surface for attaching traffic cantilever arms or large CCTV camera brackets.
3. Traffic-Grade Anchoring (16mm Flange & M20 Bolts)
Safety at intersections is non-negotiable. To prevent the pole from tearing away from its footing under asymmetric loads, the foundation relies on an oversized 350x350mm flange plate that is 16mm thick. It locks into the concrete using four M20 bolts with a 700mm embedment depth.
4. Exhaust-Resistant HDG Coating
Traffic poles are installed inches away from constant vehicle traffic, making them highly susceptible to corrosive exhaust fumes and winter road salt. We fully submerge the pole in molten zinc (HDG ≥85μm) to protect both the inside and outside, followed by a durable powder coat. It’s built to last over 20 years with zero maintenance.
